送別会

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

昨日、街の居酒屋「ニーランカーラン」で送別会がありました。
Yesterday, our farewell party was held in an Izakaya, Japanese style pub, in the center of Ishigaki city.



えっ、誰の送別会。。。。。。。。
Who was given a send-off??? Whose farewell party was???



実は私、大平智己の送別会でした。私、昨日１０月３１日を持ちまして有限会社海講座を退社いたしまして今月５日よりモルディブを目指して石垣島を出発いたします。この場をお借りいたしまして、７年の間石垣の海で私と一緒にダイビングを楽しんでいただいた皆様にお礼申し上げます。
They gave me a send-off, Oops!! I resigned Diving school Umicoza yesterday. My boss, Sonoda-san, his family and other staffs, Fanie and Aki, celebrated my new departure to Maldives. I would like to express sincere appreciation to many divers, explored in the blue water in Ishigaki island with me.

１、２、３、、、、たくさん

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

Yesterday, I dived with cute & merry Spanish sisters. (but their name doesn't remain in my brain, sorry.) In our second dive, Manta ray point was really overwhelming.
昨日は陽気なスペイン姉妹とダイビングを楽しみました。（言い訳ですが、彼女たちの名前はとても難しかったのでもう頭には残っておりません。）２本目のマンタポイントは圧巻の一言です。

Just after jumping in the water, one Manta ray swam to us. Looking back on, we could see second and third Manta ray formation flying. I eagerly counted them, one, two, three, four, five,,many. Soon I gave up it.
飛び込むや否や最初のマンタがぐぅ～と迫ってきます、振り返れば別の２匹が編隊飛行。ぼくも一所懸命マンタを数えました、１匹、２匹、３匹、４匹、５匹、、、うぅ～ん。「たくさん」！！

Vivacious Latin ladies were also absolutely satidfied with it.
たくさんのマンタに美人ラテン娘も大変満足げでした。

Yesterday one of our Diving school Umicoza frequent guest, Kayo-san requested me on the boat, ' Do you know where I can see yellow color Jaw fish, that some neighbor diving shops in Kabira introduced it in their blog? I really really want to see it!! '
昨日、当方ダイビングスクール海講座の超常連のお一人おかよさまが操船中の私の横にきて一言、二言。「川平の他のお店のブログ見たら黄色のジョーフィッシュがたくさん紹介されてるね～。あれじっくり撮ってみたいよね。」

Meeting her request is the royal road getting on in business. Proverb says, "Strike while the iron is hot", so this morning I asked for instruction from a knowledgeable neighbor instructor.
お客様のリクエストにお答えすることが商売成功の王道、また昔から諺でも申します「鉄は熱いうちに打て」と。早速今朝のタンク積みで隣り合わせた凄腕ガイドに獲物の位置を教えてもらいました。



This is our target, yellow color Jaw fish and Kayo-san's cute nail. How much did we get customer satisfaction??

独演会！？

こんには、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

昨日は、常連藤井さんの◯◯才のお誕生日。ご本人藤井さんの三線独演会、お酒もぐっとすすみました。
Yesterday, Mori-san, my boss, Aki and me celebrated Fujii-san's, our one of the most frequent guest, happy birthday. As a token of his appreciation, he gave us nice song with Sanshin, local instrument in Okinawa.



藤井さん、おめでとうございます。
Cheers, Fujii-san. And thank you for good drinking time.

写真で綴る１週間

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

海講座のブログがなかなか更新されじゃないか！！とお嘆きの貴兄のためにじゃ～写真で綴る１週間です。
Unfortunately, one week has already passed since last time updated. But I took pictures to update (it's just excuse!?). So let's review one week with pictures.



まずは前回のやのちゃんに続く、不審ダイバー！？いやいやウェートが重すぎたゲストから水中でウェートベルトをお預かりしたやっさんです。でも何で頭に巻いているかな？？
At first, what a nice hair band he has! He's Yasu-san, neighbor diving shop's owner and helped us in our busy days. But why wore weight belt on his head, that a guest passed him excess weight underwater?



前半はマンタも好調でした。
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday Manta ray had good performance.



香港のキキさんの体験ダイビング、このあたりから北風強く大崎でダイビング。
Kiki from Hong Kong, she tried first diving. North wind started and dived in Ohsaki (Back side).



しかし普段あまり行かないポイントではこんな迫力映像も！！（えっ、ただのピンボケ？？）
School of Slender sweeper at rarely going dive site.



ギンガハゼだってこのとおり。
We, Japanese divers love goby, especially Yellow prown-goby is very popular.



最後は飲み会、前回のブログ更新より１週間でした。
Cheers!! after diving. That was a good week.

バイバイ　ステファン

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

先日ステファンの送別会が開催されました。夏の忙しい時期の助っ人として大活躍でした、「俺はIDCスタッフインストラクター（ただのオープンウォーターインストラクターの私の遥か上です）だけどここではタンクボーイね～。」と皮肉をいいながらタンクをチャージしていたのがとても印象的です。ホームグランドのタイへ帰って行きました。スミランでのダイブクルーズに興味がある片お問い合わせください。ステファンがきっとすばらしいガイドをしてくれるはずです。
Sayonara -farewell- party for Stefan, he supported our Diving school Umicoza in summer busy season, was held some days ago. This supper sukketo -helper- is not only PADI IDC staff instructor but Tec diving instructor, and gave me good memory to struggle against tank charge with a habit of his saying " I'm a tank boy here " to me. He backed to his home ground, Thailand. If you are interested in liveaboat in Similan, please contact to us. Stefan should be a good guide for you in the beautiful blue water.



２次会はカラオケ、みんな普段よほど抑圧されているのか奇声をあげ飛び跳ねておりました。午前様で宴が終了したので翌日はみな無口で仕事しておりました。
After nice dinner, we went to Karaoke. Almost of us climbed out of sight with strange voice and dance, our crazy songs didn't stop until mid night.

べた凪

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

Today rarely the ocean was very calm. Whole figure of our main diving boat, First dive could be seen even from below the surface. Also you can see a gust on the deck.
今日は朝は珍しいくらいのべた凪でした。ほら、ファーストダイブ号の「海講座」の文字も水中から見上げるとくっきりです。おまけにデッキに一人がいることもよーくわかります。



Manta was.........it's not good, but not too bad.
マンタは、よくも悪くもなし。と言ったことろですかね！？明日は北風で波が高い予報です。

台風対策完了

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

今年初めての本格的な台風がどんどんここ石垣島に接近しております。
Typhoon Fanapi, she is first typhoon to be going to pass near us, is approaching to here our Ishigaki island now.

最後に船を川平湾の奥の川に係留して台風対策終了。
Finally we anchored our diving boat Kaito in a river of Kabira bay, and our preparation against typhoon was completed.



もちろん暫く海にも出られなさそうなので、その後はゆっくりお酒を飲みました。台風が来るといいこともあるんですね！？
Until typhoon is gone, we will have 2 days off. So relaxing drinking time welcomed me at Pulau, a bar 10 steps away from my home. It's one of advantage of typhoon, isn't it!?

Aki left his diving gear in the diving shop..........
魔が差したのか！？器材をお店に忘れてしまったヤノちゃん．．．．．

But he didn't give up trying diving with spare gear on the boat...........
しかし彼のダイビングに対する情熱はすばらしく潜ることをどうしても諦められなかった、船にストックしてある予備器材やお隣の船に器材をお借りして．．．．．



If you can't find by above shot what is unusual, I give you more.........

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

今年も日大ＳＤの学生諸君が当方ダイビングスクール海講座を訪ねてくれました。昨晩がその打ち上げで、お呼ばれに与りビールや島酒などおいしいお酒をいただきました。
Members of Nihon University Skin Diving Club, they've dived with us since long time ago before I'd joined in Diving school Umicoza, almost completed their summer diving camp in Ishigaki island and our Umicoza staffs were invited to their Good-by (Sayonara) party last night.

携帯しかなかったので、投光器を照明代わりにパチリ。うまく撮れました。
With an alley light as alternate camera flash, and Say 'cheese'. Even by a mobile, this picture wasn't too bad.

労働者の日

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

By the way, do you know 'Labor day' ?
ところで、みなさん「労働者の日」ってご存知ですか？

It's a national holiday of U.S.A on first Monday in September. Utilized this holiday, and they visited our Diving school Umicoza same as last year. They are mainly from millitary bases in Okinawa main island.
「労働者の日」はアメリカの休日のひとつでで９月最初の月曜日がお休みになるようです。この休日を利用して昨年に引き続き今年もたくさんのアメリカ人が海講座に来てくれました。主に沖縄本島の米軍基地にお勤めの皆さんです。



The weather forcast predicts north wind blows tommorrow. So we worry about it's impossible to dive at Manta ray point tommorrow, and tried 2 dives there today. Of course we got it, Manta ray.
次なる台風の接近に伴い荒れ気味の予報が明日以降でていますので、今日のうちにマンタポイントで２本潜りだめしておきました。やっぱりアメリカ人にはマンタが人気です、マンタの登場に皆さん満足げでした。

昨日私の船はスタッフのファニとステファンを含めて全員外国人、船長であるぼくを除いて。
All people, including our staffs Fanie & Stefan, was non-Japanese on my boat yesterday, just except me.



あまり珍しい？？ことではないですが、皆様にご報告まで。
In our Diving school Umicoza it's not rare, is it?

スノーケリング担当のぼく、たまにはスノーケリングも悪くないなと実感。
I was in charge of snorkeling, (it's rare??) and re-realize snokerling was good just for relaxing.

こんにちは、さときです。



Congratulations, Fukutani-san!! (who is one of frequent guests)
よく来ていただいている福〇さんの奥様２００ダイブおめでとうございます。

Usually we go to Manta point in our 2nd dive, but yesterday tried in the morning first dive. I dived with Ribeka-san & Satoru-san, who are also one of frequent guests. Good point of diving in the morning there was not crowed yet. We could explore in this big site easily, but our main target didn't come until just end of our diving.
本日は珍しく１本目よりマンタポイントへ出向きました。ぼくは、これまたよく来ていただいているサトルさん＆リベカさん夫妻とまだ空いているマンタポイントをゆっくりエクスプロワ～。しかし３０分経てども肝心なマンタが現れません。

We almost gave up Manta ray, suddenly Satoru-san pointed a finger, he already started safety stop at 5m depth. Ahead of point his finger........
と、ほぼ諦めかけたそのとき先に安全停止を始めたサトルさんが指指すその先に、



"Oh～ my Manta ray"
「じゃん、マンタ登場です」


I was relieved at her late coming on.
「ふっ、やれやれ」

マクロワールド

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

In the summer visibility becomes worth, the focus of our eyes mainly targets so called 'Macro world'.
夏場水中はどうしても透明度が落ちます、どうしてもぼくらの目も小さ～いもの（いわゆるマクロワールド）にいきがちです。

講習無事終了

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

International couple, Saito-san & Timothee completed their 3 days PADI Open water diver certification course yesterday.
日本人サイトウさんとフランス人ティモテさんの３日間のオープンウォターダイバー講習が昨日無事終了しました。

Thanks to their passion for Diving, they ordered the text books in advance for their preparation, and talent, they completed all skills just one time, whole course went smoothly. Especially, Timothee got perfect score for final exam..
彼らのダイビングに対する熱い情熱（事前にテキストを取り寄せて勉強しておりました。）はたまた才能（すべての水中スキルはお二人とも１回でクリアーされました）か！？３日間ともとても順調に進みました。特にティモテさんは最後のテストは満点でした。

Congratulations!!
お疲れ様でした、そしておめでとうございます。

台風にも負けず！？

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

Last night typhoon Dianmu was just born near our Ishigiaki island.
昨晩石垣島の近海で台風４号が発生しました。

Dropping by the beach our diving boats anchored to check sea conditions, I felt "Of course it's choppy and windy, but we have a chance to depart here by our boat".
朝、海を見に行くと「おや！？風と波はそんなでもない！？」。

Also my boss's comment 'Typhoon already passed near island, so after that we have south wind. (Our Kabira diving spots are tough against south wind, blowing from shore side.)' pushed our back. And we departed.　
御大園田の「台風は既に通過したからあとは南風になるから大丈夫！！」という言葉をお守りにいざ出撃。



Our main diving boat 'First dive' made her way to Yonehara in wavy condition, but less than our expectation. Underwater also almost no problem except little swell, and we enjoyed 2 dives at Yonehara.
それなりの波と風を乗り越え、我々一行は無事米原に到着。ちょっとうねりはありましたが問題なく２ダイブしました。



I dived with them today, who didn't know seasickness at all even in choppy conditions. Their ancestors could be Vikings.
今日一緒に荒波を乗り越え、ダイビングを楽しんだゲストです。悪天候にも全く怯まず、彼らの先祖はバイキングか？？

This is Mori family from Yokohama, they come our Diving school Umicoza every summer.
毎年海講座にきてもらっている横浜の守ファミリーです。





Gen-kun, youngest child in the family and just became 10 year old 2 weeks ago, successfully completed PADI junior open water diver certification course.
末っ子の源君、１０才の誕生日を２週間前に迎え今回無事無事ジュニアオープンウォターダイバーとなりました。





Last night in Kabira for them we made toast at Pulau.
最後はプラウで乾杯しました。

スノーケリング

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

Nowadays much office work floods me, I've almost no time to update here but me and our Diving school Umicoza is still fine.
世界各地－ちょっと言いすぎ－からのダイビングのお問い合わせなど内勤業務に追われ、なかなかブログアップできない忙し～い時期になりました。

Rarely I was in charge of Snorkeling yesterday, they are Watanabe family from Gifu prefecture and Natsu-chan whose parents knew about our Diving school Umicoza from Fujita-san, he certified my wife many years ago.
珍しく！？スノーケリングを昨日は担当いたしまして、普段より少し高い目線（水面からということ）で昨日はお仕事させていただきました。写真はご一緒いただいた岐阜よりお越しのワタナベファミリーとなっちゃん（なっちゃんのご両親はダイバーでパパラギの藤田さんよりご紹介に預かりました。藤田さんはその昔麻美のＣカードを認定していただいたインストラクターです。）です。



Speaking of snorkeling in Kabira, of course our first desitination was Yonehara 'W' reef , that's very big coral reef 1km off shore of Yonehara beach.
川平でスノーケリングと言えばで、まずは米原プカピーへ。うーん、サンゴが素晴らしい！！



Unfortunately before departing to 'Manta point' north wind started blowing, but our snorkeling team managed to see Manta ray in little rough ocean.
米原を出発する前にちょっと北風が吹き始めましたが、マンタポイントではみなさん船酔いする前に何とかマンタを拝むことができました。
