うれしい悲鳴

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

This year also busy season for us came, I can't complete to introduce them day by day.
今年も忙しいシーズンがやって参りました。みなさんの紹介が遅れがちです。

Sorry, I update everybody coming recetntly all together.

すしパーティー

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

This happy surprise happened after diving today.
そのうれしい企画は今日のダイビング終了後に突然始まりました。

We came back to the diving shop after third dives with 9 divers from Macau. Also their friends, not going to third dive, returned to our Umicoza from the Ishgiaki town with many supermarket's plastic bags.
９人のマカオダイバーと３本目のダイビングからお店に戻ると、ほぼ同時に３本目に参加しなかったチームも街からの買い物から戻ってきました。彼らの手には持ちきれないほどのスーパーの買い物袋があります。さてその中身は？？

There are so many dishes of Sushi & Sashimi in plastic bags. What are they?? Are they dinner for them??, but it's too early.
買い物袋の中身はなんと、、、お寿司とお刺身です。なんで？？こんなに？？これって今夜の晩御飯？？でもまだ４時３０分少し早くない？？



And then, our Sushi party was started. Fresh Sushi & Sashimi tickled our tongues, especially after diving hungry. Also cold beer accelerated our appetite!! 15 Macau divers + Umicoza staffs completed all dishes within just 30 minutes.
我々のすしパーティーはこうして幕を開けました。新鮮なお寿司にお刺身、ウニやトロもあります。ダイビング後の空きっ腹にたまりません。マカオチーム１５人と我々スタッフで３０分で完食です、この食欲恐れ入りました。



Our Umicoza welcomed many guests, but it's very first experience such a great party!!
こんな楽しいパーティもちろん、初体験です。

御贔屓に感謝

Last last night we enjoyed night diving and last night we had Ishigaki diving Festa party, so I couldn't up-date the blog two days. It's a just my excuse.
一昨日はナイトダイビング、昨日は石垣島ダイビングフェスタのパーティーと夜のお仕事が続いたのでブログが更新できませんでした。（唯の言い訳です。）

We had one heartwarming story about Mr. Hosaka. He is one of our Diving school Umicoza frequently visiting guest. Unfortunately he can't dive now because of his conditions, but he visited Ishigaki island and joined last night's party. Of course I think he must have enjoyed the party time but stayed only one night.
一つ美談を紹介したいと思います。当方海講座の常連様のおひとり保坂さんのお話です。残念ながら現在は体調不良のためダイビングを楽しむことができません。が、しかし、、、、、いつものみんなの顔が見たいと１泊２日の強硬日程で昨晩のパーティーに参加してくれました。

We highly appreciate it again that our Umicoza is composed of patronage from many guests. "Hosaka-san, Get well soon and dive with us!!"
改めて、皆様の御贔屓に感謝です。「保坂さん、早くまた一緒に潜りましょう！！」

ギリギリセーフ

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

今日は石垣島で一番の腕利き自動車修理工場と言われるアイランドボディーのご子息、淳さんのオープンウォーターダイバー講習を、ワタクシ担当いたしました。
Today I was in charge of PADI Open Water Diver certification course for Atsushi-san, son of a car repair factory well-known as the most skillful factory in here Ishigaki island.



淳くん来週よりの就職が決まっており、何とか早く講習を終了したいとのご要望です。ご要望にお答えすべく本日は通常より１時間早い朝８：００より講習スタートです。
Up to his request that the course completes as soon as possible because from next week his new job in the island is started and after that he becomes busy, we started today's course at 8:00AM, 1h earlier than usual.

学科の半分と最後のテスト、海洋実習３ダイブを無事終了したのは夕方６：３０でした。１０時間以上に及ぶ軍隊式トレーニング大変お疲れ様でした。淳さんの体力と知力の充実はもちろんのこと、ダイビングに対する情熱いやはや感服でございます。
In one day we completed half volume of knowledge development, final exam. and three open water training dives at 6:30PM. That was over 10 hours military training, very very good job today. Not only by his physical energy and intelligence but by his passion for diving, he completed it.

いまだ青春

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

今日は世田谷・目黒よりのセレブリティーのお供をシルバンともどもして参りました。
Today, me & Sylvain were attendant for celebrity from Tokyo exclusive residential district, Setagaya, Meguro.



菊池さん、羽田さん、石川さん、大石さんの４名様は今回が２回目の海講座です。前回は残念ながらマンタを外しているので今回は、並々ならぬマンタに対する意気込みで来島です。
Kikuchi-san, Hata-san, Ishikawa-san, Ohishi-san, this is second time for four ladies to visit our Diving school Umicoza. Unfortunately, they missed Manta ray last time, so they had very strong desire to Manta ray this time and came here.

でも、私自身、今日までここ１ヶ月－ちょっと大袈裟！？－マンタをみていないのです。
But, me neither!! Last time I watched Manta ray was one moth ago. - too swollen?? -

















が、しかし。今日はやりました。午後３時２０分、川平石崎マンタスクランブルにて私たちの目の前にマンタが現れました。１ヶ月ぶりのマンタ－ちょっと大袈裟！？－です。
However, today we were winner!! At 3:20PM at Kabira Ishigaki Manta scramble one manta ray appeared in front of us.



恐れ入りました、セレブパワー。まさに、我らいまだ青春！！
I marveled at celebrity power, it's just "we're in bloom of youth!!"

How's it going?



学生時代のチームメイト、谷口がワインを送ってくれました。彼は当時ぼくらのチームでは珍しい花園出場者、普段のプレーもさることながらプレスキックの名手でした。現在はオーストラリアに住んでいます。
Toshio, one of my team mate of university rugby team, sent me a bottle of white wine. In my team he was one of only a few players who had joined "Hanazo", national championship tournament of high school rugby at Hanazo rugby stadium. Now he's living in Australia.

「谷口、ありがとう。乾杯！！」
"Thank you, Toshio. Cheers!!"

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

My Swiss friend, Dominik sent me interesting topic, Drift diving in river.
親友ドミニクがスイスより便りです。内容は渓流でのドリフトダイビングです。

He tried PADI drift speciality course in Switzerland. But according to him the current was too strong because of heavy snow in mountains, so only one dive was completed.
先日、彼は地元スイスでＰＡＤＩのドリフトダイビングスペシャリティに挑戦しました。残念なことに雪解け水による増水のため流れが速すぎて１ダイブで断念したようです。



In some place it is very strong current.
確かにものすごい流れです。



In the water, Oh ~ good condition!!
水中はえらくクリスタルですね～。



Switzerland is beautiful country!!
スイスって美しい国なんですよね。

１０年以上ぶり

こんにちは、さときです。

サラリーマン、○リンビール時代の大先輩である山田さんが来島です。山田さんがお泊りの島たいむさんで杯を交わしました。
Mr. Yamada, who was one of my great senior associate in my office worker days, visited our Ishigaki island. We made a toast at his accommodation, Shima time.

日系カナダ人、カナダ系日本人？？

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。



This parent-child divers are, Mark & Sean from Canada. Papa, Mark is now staying in Japan for his job and boy, Sean is in Vancouver and bound up in ice hockey as many Canadian kids are.Today was not first time for Sean, so he could explore in the blue water easily with his dad.......
こちらのいけてる親子ダイバーは、カナダよりお越しのマークさんとショーン君です。マークさんはお仕事の関係で日本に滞在し、息子さんのショーン君はバンクーバーで本場のアイスホッケーに夢中です。ショーン君にとっては今回は初めてのダイビングではないのでかなり余裕を持って、パパと水中お散歩です、、、、、








Somebody's already realized?? Is he 鹿U-san, one the most frequent guest in our Diving school Umicoza??
ちょっと待って！！この方は、海講座にいつも来ていただいてる鹿Ｕさんじゃないの？？とお気づきの方も既にいらっしゃいます！？

Yes, that it. They are 鹿U-san and his son, 翔T-kun. But they have permanent residency in Canada, it means they are already true Canadian.
そうなんです、鹿Ｕさんとご子息の翔Ｔ君です。鹿Ｕさんカナダの永住権を取得されていて本物のカナダ人なんです。

インターネットって、素晴らしい

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

本日もスリーダイブ、サンゴ礁の中をエクスプロアー（探検）して参りました。
During today's three dives I really enjoyed exploring great corals.





私はカメラがないので、後ろから泳いでいたさちえに撮ってもらいました。“水中ワイドⅠ、フラッシュなし”などの細かい？？指示を入れながら。でも、それも不便なんだよな～と思っていたら、、、、、
Not having my own camera in the water, I asked Sachie, now learning underwater guide, to taking nice pictures, in stead of me. But it's not fun for me, so I wish spare O rings for my camera water proof pack can be delivered soon.



届きました、スペアのOリングセット。世の中も便利になりました、注文した商品がすぐ届く。インターネットって、素晴らしい。
Happy surprise!! When coming back to diving shop after third dive, spare O ring set that I had ordered was delivered.Nowadays it becomes very convenient, even country side like in Kabira we can order many things and it can be delivered in short time. So-called Wonderful internet.

Oh～シット マイゴット！！

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

私のご自慢のカメラが水没！？
Did my proud camera have damage by leakage of the water proof pack??

いやいや、カメラは大丈夫、、、でも少量の水もれがあります。Oリングに亀裂が入っています、スペアのOリングが届くまで水中写真はお待ちください。あしからず。
My camera is still alive, but still I have small leakage in the water proof pack. O ring has small crack. (Oh,shit my god!!) Until getting new O ring, I can't update nice(??) under-water pictures. Thank you for your understanding.

エア・シティ

How's it going, everybody?

今日はお休み、午前中の早々にジムを切り上げてTSUTAYAへ。
Today was my day-off. I finished routine work-out by noon and went to a DVD rental shop.



久振りの韓流です。「エア・シティ」、チェ・ジウの作品です。
My favorite is Korean drama, in this time my choice is "Air city", Choi Ji Woo stars in.

マヨルカ島

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

A cool Spanish guy visited to our Diving school Umicoza and enjoyed snorkeling with me. Ismael is living in Mallorca in Mediterranean, famous for sightseeing and shoes, like CAMPER and also his job is shoes making. For the first time in many months I was in charge of snorkeling course today and rediscovered abundant corals and beautiful Manta ray from the surface.
今日は私はスペインからお迎えしたクールガイ、イズマエルさんと一緒にシュノーケリングを楽しみしました。イズマエルさんはスペインは地中海に浮かぶマヨルカ島にお住まいですが、マヨルカ島は観光と靴作りが盛んで、日本でもカンペールなどは有名です。私も久々のシュノーケリングコースで、改めて水面より豊富なサンゴと宙返りをするマンタを見てシュノーケリングのおもしろさを再発見でした。





Unfortunately, Ismael skipped scuba diving two years after his sad accident in scuba diving. We wish he could try diving again.
お友達の不慮のダイビング事故を最後に２年ほどダイビングを離れているイズマエルさん、なんとかまたダイビングにトライしてもらいたいものです。

石垣市立図書館

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?



お仕事が休みで時間があるときは、街にある図書館に出向きます。特に日差しが厳しい日は図書館内はクーラーが効いていて気持ちいいです。
In my off day, sometimes I visit Ishigaki municipal library in the town. Especially, in hot days it is a good place to cool down my body. Oh, it's a joke!!



日経新聞をチェックして、明日のビジネス成功のヒントはないかな？？
Checking Nikkei (Nihon Keizai Shinbun: the most famous economical newspapre in Japan), and it could be good new business idea!?

本格シーズンスタート？？

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

Since on May 7 we had watched Manta ray, in 6 consecutive days we haven't missed it. Long awaited, Manta ray full-season started??
５月７日にマンタを拝んで以来、ここ６日間マンタをはずしていません。本格シーズンスタートでしょうか？？

Today I dived with Fred from Switzerland (his wife, Geminy enjoyed snorkeling with Sylvain), Tim from Netherlands and Japanese Mr. Takahashi. From beginning to end of our diving we could watch three Manta ray, we were full now!!
今日は私はスイスからのフレッドさん、オランダからのティムさん、そして日本人の高橋さんと潜りました。もちろんマンタは◎、三匹のマンタが素晴らしいホバリングでした。



P.S.
For just your information with Tim I missed Manta ray in our third dive after lunch. This is "Nature".
追伸
ランチ後ティムさんと再びマンタポントに潜りましたが、全くマンタはいませんでした。本格シーズンスタートは？？？？です。

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

In our Umicoza application form for guest divers we have one question in enquete corner, that "How many days do you spend in this trip?"
海講座に来店していただいたときに皆様にご記入いただく申込書のアンケートの欄に「今回の旅行は何泊何日ですか？」という質問があります。

Today's guest, Didier wrote down in his form, (59 nights) 60 days. Wow.......60 days??
本日のゲストディディエさんは（５９泊）６０日と記入されました。えっ！！６０日？？

Didier & Jehanne, French couple, are professional video makers and travel all over the world to produce nice films.
遠く、おフランスからお越しいただきたディディエさんとジアンさんはプロの旅ビデオ製作者で世界中を巡っております。



They are planning to make films for Japan, and now researching whole Japan from north to south in 60 days (two months).
今回は日本のビデオを製作しようと、２ヶ月かけて日本を汲まなく北は北海道から南は沖縄まで旅しております。

I'm not sure how to put it, how enviable their job is!! They enjoy their travel all over the world as half pressure and half business.
なんとも羨ましいお仕事なんでしょう！！きっとそれなりの苦労もあるのでしょうか？？（いや、きっと楽しみだけに違いない。）

ほぼ独占

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

Last three days Manta ray showed us good their performance. Yesterday I dived with Wendy & Justin, American, from Ginowan, Okinawa main island. Their request was, of course, Manta ray, so we enjoyed diving twice at Manta ray point in our second and third dive.
ここ３日間マンタが調子いいです。昨日もグット！！でした、私が一緒に潜ったのは沖縄は宜野湾に住むウェンディーさんとジャスティンさん。彼らのリクエストもマンタなので、昨日は３ダイブ中２ダイブをマンタスクランブルで楽しみました。



Especially, in our third dive at Manta ray point we have almost no boat. So we could nearly monopolize Manta ray.
特に３本目は他に船もなく、ほぼマンタを我々で独占でした。

ダニエルさんが再来島

How's it going, everyobody?
こんにちは、さときです。

Iranian genteleman, Daniel who had joined our PADI Open Water Diver certification in last October, came back and dived with me.
イランからのお客様、昨年当方海講座でオープンウォーター講習を受講したダニエルさんがまた海講座に遊びにきてくれました。

He've already succeeded in Japan as an entrepreneur, and now is thinking about new bisness in Okinawa during his 3 weeks stay in Ishigaki.
実業家であり日本でも成功を収めている彼、沖縄でも何かビジネスをと考えているようです。

"Daniel, have you already drawn your blue print of new business??"
既にいい案でも浮かんでいるようですね、明日一緒に焼肉でも食べながら聞いてみるつもりです。

満を持して

こんにちは、さときです。
How's it going, everybody?

“今日こそは、マンタ”をということで作戦をちょっと変更、１ダイブ終了後にお昼を挟んで満を持してマンタスクランブルに向かいました。写真は昼食後英気を養う面々です。
According to long term accumulated our statistics (or just six sense??), we changed today's tactic and went to Manta ray point after lunch. Attached photo is some of today's divers waiting until the time is ripe before departure for Manta ray point.



「ガ～ン！！」効果なし、今日も連敗更新です。３本目は気を取り直して好評を博しております（自分の勝手は思いこみ？？）地形ポイントへ行って参りました。岩陰に隠れているキンチャクガニなどと戯れ楽しい５０分でした。
"Oh～my God～", that's vain effort, Manta ray also didn't appear today. It means that our consecutive defeats have not stopped yet......

We bounced back, and went to "Cave point" in our third dive. Boxer crab cheered us, as you know, they are also named "cheer girl" because of swinging small anemones in their claws.

How's it going, everybody?
こんにちは、さときです。

Today my group including Jilles (also dived on April 27 and 29), Katie and Tom, tried to Manta ray point twice, but......
今日は私の組は２回もマンタスクランブルにチャレンジしたんですけど、、、、、、、、我ら“負け組”のメンバーです、ジルさん、ケーティさん、そしてトムさんです。



We lost in both first and second diving, Manta ray didn't appear at all in our two dives.
我ら負け組、見事に２回ともマンタをはずしました。

Commonly, comment by losers is not long enough, so....see you.
